‘Tis the season we hear a lot about giving back, supporting charities and helping those in need. Those with abundance have a special responsibility toward those less fortunate. It’s not political. It’s human nature.
At Emani, we give back year round. Why? It’s the right thing to do. Feeding America’s Helping Hungry Children campaign is a personal mission for Emani’s founder, Michelle Doan.
“Food fuels function,” said Michelle. “It’s hard to believe in a country as rich as America that there are families and children who are hungry. If children can’t eat or are concerned about when they’ll be able to eat next, it can leave life-long scars, facilitate learning disabilities and create emotional instability. It’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure children are taken care of, and this includes removing the fear, pain, shame and stigma of going hungry.”

Giving back doesn’t always have to be tangible or financial. It can be supportive, emotional and kind. Here’s how you can integrate giving back into your life every day:
Donate leftover food to a local food bank or take it to the nearest homeless shelter. No need to throw it away. There’s always someone who is hungry. If you’re having your event catered, arrange the donation ahead of time with your caterer so it’s take care of for you.
Shop for charity on eBay or Amazon.
Every time you buy on eBay or Amazon, you can designate a charity to benefit from your purchase. If you sell on eBay, you can create a charity auction, where the proceeds from the sale benefit the charity of your choice. Check it out here: http://charity.ebay.com/charity-auctions/my-causes
You went to the trouble to invest in Prime, now you can invest in your fellow man, too! Amazon Smile lets you support national charities ranging from the ASPCA and World Wildlife Fund to the Wounded Warriors Project. Or you can choose your own charity.
